ALESSANDRO SANGUINETI

Cellist, Lecturer, Early Music Specialist

Italian cellist Alessandro, enjoys a rich and varied career as a chamber and orchestral musician in the UK and abroad. He is the principal cellist of the European Union Chamber Orchestra and has performed in this role with Opera North, Scottish Opera and RTE' Concert Orchestra. He also plays with Royal Philharmonic, Britten Sinfonia, and London Mozart Players. His pure and lyrical playing has been broadcast on numerous soundtracks aired by BBC, RAI, MTV and SKY. Alessandro holds a Masters and a PhD in musicology from the Royal College of Music. Alessandro brings his sense of humour and love of precision and detail to his teaching studio.

JULIA MINTZER

Mezzo Soprano, Stage Director, Lecturer

American opera singer Julia, has 15 years of experience as an international singer, director, and university instructor in Europe, the UK, and the US. In her lessons, Julia brings an understanding of drama, text, and interpretation to the technical learning process, and work to help students find comfort and awareness in their whole bodies while inhabiting a piece of music. Julia has sung at Washington National Opera, Dresden Semperoper, and recently, Carmen with Welsh National Opera.  She has staged new works at the Venice Biennale and the Helsinki Festival, and was nominated for an Off-West-End Award for Best Opera Production.  Julia has been a visiting instructor at the University of Cologne, University of Liverpool, and Catholic University, working with students in the opera, musical theatre, and music education departments. She'd love to share her love of singing, acting, and performance with you.

CECILIA ROMERO

Violinist, Chamber Musician

Professional violinist Cecilia Romero, has over 30 years’ experience performing and teaching in London. Trained at the Royal Academy of Music, Cecilia has worked with many major orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, St Martin in the Fields, City of London Sinfonia, and London Mozart Players. As a chamber musician, Cecilia has performed at Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, St Martin in the Fields Church and St James’s Piccadilly Church. Drawing from her extensive performance experience and passion for teaching, Cecilia supports her pupils to develop a strong grounding in technique and musicianship, enabling them to enjoy a lifetime of music making. Cecilia’s pupils excel in exams, with over 90% achieving obtaining Merit or Distinction, and many have gone on to participate in the Bromley Youth Music Trust orchestras and chamber music ensembles.

MICHELLE MUTIAN XU WATKINS

Pianist, Music Education Specialist

Pianist and music educator Michelle, trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, and has performed as a soloist and ensemble member in the UK & abroad. Michelle is a qualified teacher, and until recently the HOM at a prestigious London preparatory school.

Michelle is delighted to share her knowledge of enthusiasm for the piano with students of all abilities, and believes it is important to establish goals from the outset in order to provide the technical and musical foundations needed to support the ambitions of her students. Michelle is highly experienced in preparing students for ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, and Rock School music exams.

MARCO PICCIONI

Guitarist, Lecturer, Songwriting Tutor

Marco, is a Blues, Rock, & Jazz guitarist and singer. A graduate from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Marco has worked extensively in New York, Italy, the UK, & toured worldwide. As a solo artist, he has recorded a number of albums. Marco is part of the Modal Contemporary band Collocutor by Tamar Osborn, and has worked with various UK artists, including Fiona Ross, Julia Biel, the Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra, and Cleveland Watkiss. Marco leads the Artist Development Programme at Access Creative in London, and privately teaches Blues, Jazz, and Rock Guitar. He also leads Songwriting and Music workshops around the UK. Marco believes that the goal of any creative person should be to find his or her own voice, and would love to help students develop their potential.

CHRISTIE COOK

Mezzo Soprano, ABRSM Examiner

New Zealand opera singer Christie, has been working as a soloist and ensemble singer in the UK & Europe since relocating here in 2017, working with a number of major  companies including Grange Park Opera, Longborough Festival Opera, and the Monteverdi Choir. Christie has toured throughout Europe and America, singing in Carnegie Hall, The Barbican, Royal Albert Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, Versailles Royal Opera, Tonhalle Zurich. Christie has been a passionate voice teacher for many years, teaching at private schools across London, and combining enthusiasm with technical knowledge. She is also an ABRSM examiner.

EDWARD McCULLAGH

Violinist

British Violinist Edward, has enjoyed a number of trials with UK orchestras, currently with Scottish Ballet. In London he plays regularly with the Royal Philharmonic, London Chamber Orchestra, and English Chamber Orchestra. He has also worked regularly in Barcelona with the Orquesta Barcelona de Catalunya . Edward teaches violin and viola at Dulwich Prep London, and enjoys teaching a wide range of ages and abilities, from adult beginner through to diploma level.

STEFANO FASCE

Composer, Flautist

Italian composer Stefano, is an award winning composer for screen and concert. He has composed music for numerous short and feature films and is currently working on the music for two TV series. He recently released his debut album “Solitary Places”, and is a composition graduate from the National Film and Television School. From a classically trained background having originally graduated in flute from Conservatorio “Niccolò Paganini” in Italy, Stefano has played in many Italian orchestras and taught flute and recorder in schools and privately. Stefano shares his enthusiasm for creating music with students to help them unlock their creativity and develop their ideas.

RAISA ZAPRYANOVA

Violist, Chamber Musician

Bulgarian Violist Raisa, is a member of the English Symphony Orchestra and the Ulster Symphony Orchestra, and performs regularly at The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, and in many international music festivals in the UK and Europe, plus appearing on ITV and BBC broadcasts. She is an experienced chamber musician, and is currently completing her PhD in solo & chamber Viola repertoire. Raisa teaches in the Junior department of Trinity Laban Conservatoire, in additional to private teaching, and is committed to helping her students develop a healthy and natural technique on the instrument, which serves them in fully expressing their musicality. Her approach nourishes imagination and appreciation for music.

ELEANOR CLARKE

Mezzo Soprano, Choral & Vocal Ensemble Specialist

Eleanor Clarke was a choral scholar at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, and now has over fifteen years’ experience as a professional singer. She was a founder member of vocal ensemble Stile Antico, with whom she recorded sixteen award-winning CDs, performed throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia, toured with Sting and appeared live at the 60th Grammy Awards ceremony in 2018. She currently sings with the choir of the Chapel Royal in the Tower of London, and on an ad hoc basis for many other choirs, be it in concert, in churches and synagogues, or on film soundtracks (including The Witches, Maleficent, Jurassic World, Aladdin, Fantastic Beasts II, Mary Queen of Scots, Hotel Transylvania III, and The Hobbit). She loves teaching adults and children of all ages, and has a particular passion for making music theory relevant and fun!
